I want to thank you for coming to my site. My name is Arthur Drake and I am a fiction writer. I focus mainly on pulp like short stories but am also working on novels. I have some works published on Amazon and created this site to share some of my other works that I had laying around but didn’t feel like going through all the work of publishing them on Amazon or other similar markets.
This site will also keep me writing and publishing new content even when I’m not currently working on a series of short stories or novels for Amazon or similar markets. I’m a big fan of writers like Robert E. Howard, H. P. Lovecraft, and Louis L’Amour and you’ll likely see somewhat similar themes touched upon in my work but of course with their own unique flare.
I try to write stories that show people as they are instead of idealized versions that are politically, morally, or religiously correct. As Robert E. Howard once said “My characters are more like men than these real men are, see. They’re rough and rude, they got hands and they got bellies. They hate and they lust; break the skin of civilization and you find the ape, roaring and red-handed.”
So just because I write of a character who acts or behaves in a certain way is in no way and endorsement of it but rather a honest look at human nature and the human animal. Because of this my work is for a mature audience not just in age but of mind (which rules out a good portion of people of any age).
If you want tales of courageous yet flawed warriors, fearsome monsters, complex characters, and horrors beyond this world mixed in with creative visions then my work will be of interest to you.
